Registrant Fee Increase 2019-2020

Skate Canada’s mission is to be a leader in the delivery of skating programs and to have a continuing legacy of champions. In order to achieve this goal, it is critical that best in class programs are developed and executed by Skate Canada, our clubs, skating schools and coaches. This is facilitated, in part, through the collection of a fee from all those who participate. The registrant fee is shared equally between Skate Canada and our Sections in carrying out our respective objectives. In consultation with all Skate Canada Sections, we have determined that, in order to accomplish our collective goals, keep in step with inflation and provide expanded avenues for growth and development of all our registrants, the registrant fee will be increased to Forty Dollars ($40.00) for the 2019-2020 registration year.

The Registrant fee increase to $40.00 for the 2019-2020 registration year, payable to Skate Canada will include:

  • Registrant fee – National: $20.00/registrant
  • Registrant fee – Section: $20.00/registrant

In addition to the $40.00 registrant fee there will also be:

  • Safe Sport Fee: $3.00/registrant
  • Participant Accident Insurance Fee: $0.65/registrant + app tax*

*The participant accident insurance fee will be confirmed as we get closer to September 1st, as insurance rates cannot be negotiated this far in advance.
