Privacy Code Updates

Skate Canada has updated the Skate Canada Privacy Code which entered into force December 12, 2025. The revised Privacy Code replaces the previous Skate Canada Privacy Code which entered into force on June 30, 2025 (the “Effective Date”).

Reminder that it is your ongoing responsibility to be familiar with, understand and comply with the provisions of the policies and procedures of Skate Canada.

Highlight of Changes
The majority of the changes from the previous version relate to the following:
o Addition of Sport Integrity Canada (formerly known as Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES)) in their role of oversight and enforcement of the Universal Code of Conduct to Address and Prevent Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS), including collection, sharing and receiving of information related to reports of alleged violations of the UCCMS. Note – Effective April 1, 2025, the UCCMS oversight and enforcement was transferred from the Sports Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC) through the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC) to Sport Integrity Canada.
o Alignment of collection, sharing and receiving of information for the Case Manager of the Skate-Safe program for the Misconduct Reporting and Resolution Policy and supporting procedure to that of Sport Integrity of Canada for the UCCMS for consistency, specifically the name of the respondent.

For complete details, it is important to read the entire Privacy Code, as it is your ongoing responsibility to be familiar with, understand, and comply with the provisions of the policies and procedures of Skate Canada.
