With the updates to the STAR 6-Gold structure, the Gold level has a Skills Exercise Challenge element that will be in effect as of July 1, 2020. With the interruption of many skaters’ training this winter/spring the following provisions have been made:
- This element will be optional until June 30, 2021
- As of July 1, 2021, it will be mandatory
All Gold Skills Assessment sheets have the Skills Exercise Challenge element included.
If a skater chooses not to do the Exercise Challenge element the evaluator/coach assessor will cross out the element on the assessment sheet and score the assessment on the three remaining elements.
The assessment will be rated out of three for those not doing the skills exercise challenge and out of four for those who choose to do the element.
