Examples Used to Illustrate Bonus Application

Type of Bonus: Different Triple Jumps

Example

  • 3T+2T+C
  • 3S
  • 3T
  • 3S+2Lo+C

The example above is for the Pre-Novice Free Program. Although there are four successful triples in this example, there are only two different triples successfully attempted (3T and 3S). As such, the bonus of 2.0 for three or more different triples in the Free Program would not apply. This rationale also applies to all other categories with this type of bonus.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Pre-Novice Free Program, the total bonus for these elements would be 4.0:

Bonus type: +1.0 for each 2A or higher base value jump

  • 3T – bonus of 1.0
  • 3S – bonus of 1.0
  • 3T – bonus of 1.0
  • 3S – bonus of 1.0
  • Total bonus: 4.0

Example

  • 3S <
  • 3S+2T+C
  • 3Lo
  • 3T
  • 3F

The example above is for the Novice Women Free Program. Although the first attempt at 3S was identified as under-rotated, the skater still successfully attempted four different triple jumps so receives the bonus of 2.0.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Novice Women Free Program, the total bonus for these elements would be 6.0:

+1.0 for each different triple jump

  • 3S – bonus of 1.0
  • 3Lo – bonus of 1.0
  • 3T – bonus of 1.0
  • 3F – bonus of 1.0

+2.0 for four or more different triple jumps in free program

  • Total bonus: 6.0

Type of Bonus: Triple Jump Immediately Following a Double or Triple Jump

Example

  • 3Lo+3T+C

The example above is for the Pre-Novice Short Program. Since this bonus type is only applicable to a 3T immediately following 1A or any double jump in this category, the bonus would not be applied.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Pre-Novice Short Program, the total bonus for this element would be 3.0:

+1.0 for each 2A or higher base value jump

  • 3Lo – bonus of 1.0
  • 3T – bonus of 1.0

+1.0 for two or more different triple jumps in short program

Total bonus: 3.0

Example

  • 2Lz+3T<<+C
  • 3Lo+3T+C

The example above is for the Novice Men Free Program. The first attempt at a 3T immediately following a double or triple jump was identified as downgraded so is not considered as the first successful attempt. As such, the bonus of 2.0 is applied to the second combination as this is the first successful attempt. This rationale also applies to all other categories with this type of bonus.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Novice Men Free Program, the total bonus for these elements would be 3.0:

MEN: +1.0 for each different triple jump – 3Lo and higher base value

  • 3Lo – bonus of 1.0

any triple jump (+2.0) immediately followed by a 3T

  • Total bonus: 3.0

Example

  • 2F (skater does two 3-turns) +3T+C

The example above is for the Novice Women Free Program. Two 3-turns between jumps in a combination is allowable with the element still satisfying the definition of a jump combination. As such, the bonus of 1.0 will still be awarded. This rationale also applies to all other categories with this type of bonus.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Novice Women Free Program, the total bonus for this element would be 2.0:

WOMEN: +1.0 for each different triple jump

  • 3T – bonus of 1.0

any double jump (1.0) immediately followed by a 3T

Total bonus: 2.0

Example

  • 2F+3T+C
  • 3S+3T+C

The example above is for the Novice Women Free Program. Because both combinations are successful attempts of the same type of bonus (3T following a double or triple jump), the bonus of 1.0 will be applied to the first combination, with the second combination receiving no bonus. This rationale also applies to all other categories with this type of bonus.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Novice Women Free Program, the total bonus for these elements would be 3.0:

WOMEN: +1.0 for each different triple jump

  • 3T – bonus of 1.0
  • 3S – bonus of 1.0

any double jump (1.0) immediately followed by a 3T

Total bonus: 3.0

Example

  • 3F< (or <<) +3T+C

The example above is for the Novice Women Short Program. Although the first jump is either an under-rotated or downgraded triple, the bonus for any under-rotated or downgraded triple jump (+1.0) immediately followed by a 3T, will be applied and not the bonus for any triple jump (+2.0) immediately followed by a 3T. If the first jump were a double and either under-rotated or downgraded, no bonus would apply.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Novice Women Short Program, the total bonus for these elements would be 2.0:

WOMEN: +1.0 for each different triple jump

  • 3T – bonus of 1.0

any under-rotated or downgraded triple jump (+1.0) immediately followed by a 3T

Total bonus: 2.0

Example

  • 3T+3T+2T+C
  • 2F+3T+3Lo+C
  • 3T+2T+3T+C
  • 3T+1Eu+3S

The examples above are for Junior. The first 2 examples above satisfy the requirement for Junior Women to successfully attempt either a 3T or 3Lo immediately following another triple jump. As such, the 1.0 bonus would apply to each. The third and fourth examples do not satisfy this requirement and will not receive the bonus. This rationale also applies to all other categories with this type of bonus.

Example

  • 3F+3T+2T+C
  • 2F+3Lo+3Lo*+C

The example above is for the Novice Men Free Program. Even though the second example satisfies the bonus for a 3Lo immediately following another triple, it is the second 3 jump combination. As such, the 2.0 bonus will not be applied.

For this example, and based on all bonuses available in the Novice Men Free Program, the total bonus for these elements would be 4.0:

MEN: +1.0 for each different triple jump – 3Lo and higher base value

  • 3F – bonus of 1.0
  • 3Lo – bonus of 1.0

any triple jump (+2.0) immediately followed by a 3T

Total bonus: 4.0
